Ubisoft Shuts Down Online Servers Permanently
According to a post shared on the Ubisoft Support Forum, the firm is permanently shutting down online servers for former Tom Clancy games.
Online servers for games such as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Rainbow Six Lockdown, Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be taken offline on PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms later this year. After the online servers are removed, players will be able to continue playing single-player games offline.
Other games taken offline for the computer are Assassin’s Creed 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Far Cry 2, Anno 1404, Might & Magic — Clash of Heroes, Splinter Cell Conviction, The Settlers 7, and Might & Magic X — Legacy. Online services will be removed from June 1, 2021, as will other games named for these games. But again the solo modes of the games will remain.
Although some games in the list do not already have an online mode, at this point access to content that can be unlocked with ULC in the game will be disabled. However, other features that require internet access will also lose their availability.
