In 2003, after a six-year breakup, Revolution Software, which greeted fans again with Sleeping Dragon, was thought to have completed the trilogy and said goodbye to the series. But after a short period of time, which in this case is not understood. In mid-2005, the sequel, which had only been a rumor in the previous months, was officially announced, and the name was finally finalized in the following time. Broken Sword, the pupil of Revolution along with Beneath a Steel Sky, does not leave the future of the series in doubt, even for a while, with the release of Angel of death. He doesn’t quit, because it’s known that Angel of Death and Broken Sword are definitely closing.

Our game starts pretty quickly. In the initial video, we witness the sacrifice ceremony; then, as time progresses, we see an archaeological excavation where a human skeleton is found, which dates back three years to today. This screen doesn’t last long either, and soon we meet our legendary hero George Stobbart. He’s trying to catch up with his office on a rainy New York evening, but he doesn’t know what’s going to happen to him a little later. Inside is a beautiful blonde named Anna Maria, and outside are a few big men who we can understand are after this woman. Anna Maria is telling us about a manuscript that she had, and that’s why the men out there are after her. The first part of the game is based on our escape from where we are. As a result of the events that followed, we need to uncover what this manuscript points to and the underlying facts. During the game, the centuries-old conflict between religion and science begins to be discussed.

Angel of death’s place in the series in terms of time frame is one year after Sleeping dragon. From time to time, you encounter dialogues that use this in the story stream, and you also have the opportunity to see some familiar characters from Nico and previous Broken Sword games again in the game. As is known, Broken Sword is an adventure game using the third person point&click interface; in the fourth game of the series, this structure is fully protected. The camera angle, on the other hand, was transferred to the game using it in a much more interactive way this time. He follows the hero according to his location, and as long as you move, he moves. Apart from screen transitions at some extreme points, we can mention that from the moment you start walking, we have a camera that rotates around you in a single particle, can descend and rise according to its location, and sometimes zoom in and out. But the fact that this was done in a different way also brings with it minor control difficulties.

We have a chance to control our hero in two different ways using the mouse or keyboard keys. It’s more comfortable in terms of keyboard orientation than the mouse, what a lone mouse can do is more than the control possibilities on the keyboard. You have the ability to activate your character by clicking anywhere on the expanding game world by constantly scrolling through the screen. The event of interacting with objects occurs within a menu that opens when you click on them. This menu includes talk, hold, and review icons.

Broken Sword’s familiar puzzle structure also retains its place in this final game of the series. Accordingly, we must first get certain information by talking to the people around us, then pull the boxes around us and use some objects in other places, and finally solve the events by talking to the people again. This gameplay alternative, which has been moved to the present day without much change since Circle of blood, has also been beautifully used in Angel of death. When you move the mouse pointer near the top of the screen, your inventory is displayed, and you can easily use it with another object around you by holding any object here.

You have the opportunity to talk to people about almost anything around you. These can sometimes occur as dialogue-based puzzles, as well as getting the information needed to solve a particular puzzle elsewhere. But the dialogue tree does not develop within a structure that differs according to the answers you receive in response to the questions you ask. It is possible to specify the point where this occurs as a negative feature in the form that you do not need to understand the details of the story; if you know what to do, you may not even listen to the dialogues. And our PDA helps us with many things. The fact that it can also be used as a phone also allowed the makers to include it in a puzzle format. The fact that you can hack various computers and store your notes on it again adds to the variety of puzzles. Fortunately, we do not encounter action puzzles that we can remember from Sleeping dragon in Angel of death.

The subject of Angel Of Death is moving in a way that parallels their space. The first parts of the game are in an escape mood, and then we move on a wide geography that includes Istanbul, Egypt and the Vatican. As I have just mentioned briefly, the general topic is developing in such a way as to address the conflict between religion and science; I avoid giving too much spoiler information about it. The story revolves around a theme known as the elixir of the Ages in the form of MFKZT, along with the civilizations of ancient Egypt in general. As part of the progress within the departments, we may have to visit some places over and over again, but these, of course, do not occur in the form of constant traffic between countries; we can travel around places within the same city. In Istanbul, Topkapi Palace is waiting for you.

From a graphical point of view, Angel of Death has a pretty good score, even the most impressive Broken Sword game made according to its time can be noted here. But also the point to focus on is that the development after Sleeping dragon is really remarkable. Along with the details of the characters, it is easy to understand what they want to say with their facial expressions. In addition to the fact that the spaces feel a little empty, we can note that they have a very good design. In terms of voice and especially voice acting, it can be mentioned that Angel of death is again successful. Fun dialogues and a joke that can appear at any moment manage to make you smile at least. The ambient ambience is generally provided by the surrounding sounds, and you rarely have the opportunity to hear music in some places. But overall it is possible to complain about the inadequacy of both.

Angel of Dearth, who is not a fan of Broken Sword too much, I would say that after Sleeping dragon, he made a very good impression. Broken Sword’s familiar variety of puzzles will undoubtedly be a beautiful experience for those who accept it in this way. It’s obvious that his fun side took him to a different point, even though he didn’t make the LucasArts game of years ago. Although puzzles containing speech contain a plus in this respect, they may not matter much because they lack depth. We can also assume that puzzles should contain more than just drawing boxes for Broken Sword. But in general, the pleasure of the game provided by the graphics and thread flow will satisfy you until the end. Well, if you play it knowing that it’s the end game of the Broken Sword series, you can increase the pleasure even more. Angel of death can be mentioned as the most reliable adventure game you can find now… ..and, of course, from George Stobbart. With 2 B and 2 T.
